Immigration Support

Protecting the fundamental rights and civil liberties of all immigrants

Mission Statement

Our services are recognized by the US Department of Justice. We are BIA (BIA Accredited).

The Immigrant Support and Assistance Center (ISAAC) exists to protect and promote the fundamental rights and civil liberties of the immigrant population within the four counties of the Diocese of Gary in Northwest Indiana (Lake, Porter, LaPorte and Starke).

ISAAC’s main purpose is to educate and support immigrants throughout our community who are most
vulnerable. Below is a list of ways ISAAC provides services to immigrants in need:

  • Helping immigrants fully integrate into mainstream life within the United States by providing housing and health care opportunities as well as family counseling.
  • Educating incoming immigrants about U.S. Immigration Laws, including visa information, legal employment, and status of immigration reform legislation.
  • Providing advice, support, and advocacy to immigrants regarding employment opportunities and employee rights.
  • Offering support of the church and religious community by providing safeguards for the dignity of all immigrants.
  • Providing direction and assistance to immigrants in learning English as a second language (ESL).
  • On-site lawyer and assistants who provide legal assistance for immigration concerns, criminal matters, and other areas of law.
